‘Audrey’
April 2025

Audrey is a continuation of a book giving to me as part of a collection of materials that were handed down to me after the passing of my great uncle’s mother-in-law Audrey.

The first few pages of the book ‘Drawing Book” from the Warwickshire Country Council Education Committee have some writings from Audery in her beautful caligraphy writing include a quote from Thomas Moore

“T’is the last rose of summer
left blooming alone
all her lovely companions
are faded and gone”

I decided to finish the book, adding collections of photographs I have taken and various drawings and poscards i have collected which had recently fallen from my bedroom wall and needed a new home. There are also photographs of my dad and his family who are not related to Audrey but now share a space together and create narrative together.

The book doesn’t necessarily relate to the Thomas Moore quote of solidarity, I see it more of a collection of support, holding together, growth, directioning,

continuing the journey in spite of stunted growth
