“The everyday” generally refers to the ordinary, routine, or habitual aspects of daily life—the
things, actions, and experiences that people encounter regularly and often take for granted.
It’s about the mundane or commonplace moments that form the backdrop of our existence, like
going to work, the scenarios that occur on the streets, or casual social interactions.
There is no concrete definition of ‘The Everyday’ because it is such a broad and flexible
concept, heavily dependent on individual experiences, routines, cultural contexts, and social
environments. What feels “everyday” or routine to one person or community might be
completely different for another.
The common factor we all share is the public spaces—
‘The frames’
—which contain the fluidity
of our personal everyday scenarios and experiences.
Together, the works create a dialogue between frame and flow: the controlled systems we move
within, and the spontaneous, often overlooked moments that unfold inside them. Through a
combination of observational paintings and interactive elements, the project reflects on the
elements of structure, spontaneity, and play which occur in my personal ‘everyday’
.
