La Oca

Series of 63 pieces
collaboration with La Bobería
Exhibited in casaespacio, Barcelona 18.01.2025

La Oca is a series of 63 sculptural paintings created in collaboration with the collective La Bobería. This project, developed for an exhibition at casaespacio in January 2025, reimagines one of the oldest board games, transforming it into an interactive experience where art becomes something to be played rather than simply observed.

Each of the 63 territories represents a unique space, composed of diverse materials—rocks from Sevilla, yerba mate, plants, and recycled paper sourced from friends and different locations. Inspired by the ornamental elements of modernisme architecture in Barcelona, these pieces are not static; they incorporate magnetic areas where tokens can be placed, allowing the audience to move from one piece to another based on the roll of a dice.

In both its physical structure and its concept, La Oca embodies movement. The goose, a migratory bird, symbolises the journey—connecting distant places, dissolving borders, and leaving ephemeral traces behind. Likewise, this game invites participants to reflect on movement as a way of inhabiting the world: ever-changing, shared, and in constant dialogue with the environment.
